Along with field recordings, I also want to share another current obsession of mine — commentary. Commentary has been around since the laserdisc era, but I never really took it seriously until a few years ago. I love listening to film commentary, but rarely do I want to rewatch a movie I just watched with someone talking over it. So my girlfriend gave me the bright idea of ripping the commentary to listen removed from the film. I will provide some of my aquisitions here. The first being David O’Russels I Heart Huckabees.

Lonesome Drinking Metal… As the title implies, ‘black metal interpretations of country songs’ — now holds a place as my most anticipated record of 2008.
Dead Raven Choir’s last record (late 2007) My First Born will Surely be Blind is definitely my favorite release by Smolken in the few years that i’ve been following his work. You can check out a track from that record on my Muxtape.
